I just found out the line-up for this year’s annual New Years Eve Bash held at Queen Victoria Park December 31, 2011. The free family-friendly event takes place opposite the famous Niagara Falls with entertainment started at 7:30pm. There will be two spectacular firework displays one at 8:30 pm and another at midnight.
There will be food & beverage vendors as well as an outdoor licensed area.

Last night I had a chance to experience the TD Rink at the Brink. If you aren’t familiar, it’s an outdoor ice skating-rink located near the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls.
Sponsored by TD Bank, the rink officially opens today. It is a really cool experience to skate outdoors, literally! Make sure you bundle up because it does get cold especially down by the Falls. I was really impressed with this Niagara Falls attraction! There was music being played through speakers and being out doors you could see the Winter Festival of Lights displays. It was very festive! Nowadays you don’t really get a chance to experience ice skating outdoors you are usually in an area. If I had to choose, outdoor skating is definitely more fun!
I am not going to talk about my skating abilities (not so good) but I did meet a Dad taking his son skating for the first time. It was absolutely adorable!! Of course I asked to take their pics!
If you are in Niagara Falls this winter season check out the Rink at the Brink. Don’t worry about bringing skates because you can rent them at the rink. Just dress warmly, bring the family and have a great time skating!

I sign up for a lot of flash deal websites. Every week my inbox gets flooded with random offers from business in my area (Niagara Region). I usually skim the deals and delete the emails. With Christmas coming I decided to pay a little more attention to the deals. Being a little skeptical to purchase from these sites I was hesitant at first. After asking my friends and family if they have ever purchased off sites like WagJag and Groupon I received a bunch of positive responses. I am an avid online shopper. I prefer to sit at home and have my purchases come to me so I decided to give it a try. I am now HOOKED!!
From oil changes to restaurant vouchers you can save a bunch of money on services that you usually use anyways. I recognize most of the companies that offer the deals and I am even tempted to try out new businesses.
So far I have purchased 4 Spa Vouchers – half day spa experience at Caesar Spa including pedicure, manicure, facial and hot stone massage. I spent $49 per voucher (regular price would be well over $245 each package). I bought the vouchers as gifts for some women in my family. I wanted to make sure the place was as good as WagJag claimed so I took a drive to Caesar Spa to check it out. I was very impressed! The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was so relaxing. Oh and did I mention I bought a voucher for myself? I couldn’t resist, of course I have to “check out” the treatments before I give the gifts. Well that’s how I justified the purchase. 
I also bought 2 sessions with a professional photographer (JT Photography FX) for $69 a voucher. Regular price would have been well over $150 per session.
I will let you know how my purchases panned out!!

More and more Canadian businesses are participating in the Black Friday deals. I just noticed a countdown clock on the Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa website. Looks like they are gearing up to offer some sort of deal.

It’s that time of year again – Black Friday. The most insane shopping experience I have ever witnessed! American Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 24, 2011, the day following is Black Friday. Traditionally the Friday after Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday shopping seasons. I never really knew the history behind the busiest shopping day of the year so I checked it out Wikipedia. Contrary to most people’s belief’s Black Friday is not an actual holiday! Employers give their employees the day off to increase potential shoppers. Check out the full history of Black Friday.
Stores in the United States open early morning (i’m, talking 3am) and continuously have deals throughout the day. If you can stand the crowds and craziness then I suggest you check out the stores.
