PLAN A WEEK-CATION TO NIAGARA

Daycation. Staycation. How about a Week-cation in Niagara?

There is so much to do in the Niagara Region. Many travelers come for the day, the weekend, but did you know it is possible to be entertained from Monday – Sunday? Whether you have five kids or no kids at all, the Niagara Region is the place to visit this summer.

As you know Niagara Falls has many accommodations and attractions to keep you busy. Looking to get pampered while you are away? Niagara Falls has some incredible four diamond hotels to choose from: The Marriott Fallsview or Sheraton Fallsview – both have incredible views of the Falls from your guest room, fine dining establishments and many amenities within the hotel. Like to go-go-go while you are on vacation? At the Courtyard by Marriott you’ll be in the centre of everything – a fantastic assortment of fabulous restaurants and within walking distance of Clifton Hill, both casinos and all the major attractions.

Here is a snap shot of your Week-cation:

Day One – Also Known as the “Day of Fun”

You could spend a full day on Clifton Hill running from museum to haunted house, to the Skywheel, to the great Canadian Midway (70,000 square feet of fun and over 300 games). Now that is a lot of square footage of fun.

Day Two – Okay Also Known as the “Day of Fun Part II”

Spend the Day running from one outdoor attraction to the next. Start at the Maid of the Mist, then experience Journey Behind the Falls, the Spanish AeroCar and end up visiting butterflies (100’s of them) in a Rainforest in the middle of Niagara Falls.

Day Three – Niagara on the Lake

Spend the day visiting all of the quaint shops and cafes along Queen Street, or tasting one delicious grape after another. Magnificent Tours offers a 4 hour Winery Tour of Niagara which includes a gourmet take-away lunch and your daily dose of antioxidants.

Don’t like a set schedule, then spend the day traveling Niagara Stone Road starting with Pillitteri Estates Winery, then off to Joseph’s Estate Wines, then to Hillebrand Estate Winery and Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate (the list goes on and on).

Day Four and Day Five = Sherkston Shores

Spend a few days at Sherkston beach. Rent a place or pitch a tent (depends on how much you love the great outdoors). Enjoy your daily dose of Vitamin D at one of their 3 beaches or bring the kids to the waterslides, or heated pools. There is never a dull moment at Sherkston!

Day Six – Small Towns by Day and Big Casinos by Night

During your day trip to Port Dalhousie, spend the day walking along the pier, playing beach volleyball, catching a few rays and grabbing a bite to eat at one of their many fabulous restaurants. Jordan is another quaint town in the Niagara Region. Spend the day walking along their main street window shopping, lunching or visiting one of their many wineries.

In the evening, head back to Niagara Falls and visit one or both of their Casinos – Casino Niagara and/or the Fallsview Casino. Enjoy live entertainment, great dining and of course test your luck on the slots or gaming tables.

Day Seven – Golf or Shopping (You Choose)

Are you an avid golfer? If so you have come to the right place. Niagara has a lot of great golf courses to choose from.

If finding a great deal is your idea of fun, then you’ll love Niagara Falls (Canada and US). Visit Canada One Factory Outlet for some fabulous finds or head over the border to the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls.

Spend your evening, enjoy our illuminated natural wonder either from your guest room or face-to-face. And every Friday, Sunday and Holiday, experience fireworks right over top Niagara Falls starting at 10pm.

I only just scratched the surface. These are just a few ways to spend your Monday – Sunday in Niagara. It’s definitely the place to visit this summer for a Week-cation.
