LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS IN NIAGARA…OH MY!

If you are visiting Niagara Falls for the first, second or third time and are looking for something different to do with the family, Zooz is a “must see” experience. With over 400 animals, birds and reptiles, there will be plenty of eye candy to keep the family entertained. What I loved about Zooz was that you could get closer to the animals than any other zoo that I have been to in Ontario. Last summer was my first visit and there were so many fun stories I left with, that I still talk about today.

One of the first visits was to an empty bird cage labeled, Saker Falcon. We then proceeded to move on to the next cage, but before we do we hear a trainer making bird calls with a let’s say “light bird snack” in hand. We look up in the tree and at the very top of the tree was the falcon. We did hear that the falcon was safe and sound in their cage within a few hours.

ZOOZWhat I loved about this place, was that the animals actually looked content, their cages were spacious and the grounds were well maintained. My other memorable experience was with the giraffes. They were so friendly that they actually interacted with us. My friend held a handful of grass up to the giraffe just to see what would happen….and with its big Purpleish/blue tongue, she/he took the grass and kept coming back for more. We got some great candid pictures and to this day they still make me smile.

Zooz also has an incredible water park for the kids to cool off. Given how hot our summer is, this is a perfect way to end your day adventure. There is also a ton more to do that we didn’t have the chance to experience, but definitely will look into the next time. There are paddle boats, kite flying, Elastoblast – trampoline, and tons of shows and presentations.

If you are planning on going more than once this summer, I highly recommend the season’s pass. You’ll definitely save in the long run. A season’s pass also includes FREE admission to their 6 outdoor summer concerts, discounts in their gift shop and a discount to attend Safari Niagara Adventure Day Camp.
